Children at a primary school in Wigan are the proud owners of some rather snazzy new outdoor planters – thanks to a fun gardening event organised by TCL and Taylor Wimpey.

Youngsters were given the chance to get their hands dirty planting pansies, polyanthus and heathers in large wooden planters in the grounds of Aspull Holy Family School, which will soon be welcoming children from Taylor Wimpey’s nearby Bakersfield development.

TCL regional relationship manager Sophie Kelly joined the Taylor Wimpey sales team to talk to the budding gardeners about plants in cooking, different types of plants and the importance of water, food and air for their survival.

They took turns with the trowels and equipment provided by TCL and are looking forward to enjoying a colourful outdoor environment during the cold months of autumn, winter and spring.

TCL designed and landscaped the sales area at the Bakersfield development, which offers a selection of three- and four-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached homes just outside the city.
