TCL has just finishing landscaping the roof terrace of an award-winning restaurant just off London’s Kings Road in Chelsea.

The Duke of York restaurant, in the largely Grade II-listed Duke of York Square in Chelsea, was designed by NEX Architecture, following an international design competition which attracted more than 150 entries.

Created by Westgreen Construction, which chose TCL as its landscaping partner, the restaurant marries modern design with the architectural heritage of the surrounding area.

Neighbouring famous landmarks include the Saatchi Gallery, which is housed in the magnificent former Duke of York Headquarters, the creation of Nigella Lawson’s ex-husband and art collector Charles Saatchi.

The restaurant, owned by the Cadogan Estate, includes a circular roof terrace and the UK’s first innovative retractable glass façade which will lower into a single storey basement during fine weather to enable al fresco dining.

Developers say it is set to become a new landmark for the King’s Road.

TCL regional relationship manager Julie Evans said: “We at TCL were privileged to be selected to install the landscaping to the beautiful, circular roof terrace! Open to the public, the terrace provides an additional green space in which to relax. It breathes life into the architecture, while blending seamlessly with the surrounding area. A big thank you to our bespoke team for all your hard work!”
