The spirit of a former school, on which part of a major urban regeneration scheme is being carried out in Liverpool, is being remembered within the landscaping created by TCL.
The development, one of many large-scale urban renewal projects created by Compendium Living Homes, will offer two, three and four bedroom properties within an existing residential community which also has shops, schools and parks.
TCL is landscaping the sales complex at Joseph Williams Place, in Liverpool’s Belle Vale – and as part of the design is incorporating elements which hark back to the site’s earlier incarnation as a Victorian School.
TCL designed a set of rulers to create a railway sleeper effect in the garden of one of the houses, while a set of pencils in a pot were hand painted and brought to life by one of the team.
Compendium Living Homes, owned by housebuilder Lovell and social housing landlord Riverside, specialises in complex regeneration and urban renewal residential developments, and works with public sector organisations to create and transform areas on land often owned by multiple agencies.
Its schemes are integrated within the wider, existing community and easy access to amenities such as schools and shops are a key element of all its developments – with a focus on ensuring a sense of place.
A mix of home styles, sizes and prices means the developments are suitable for all ages from first time buyers to professionals, families and downsizers, thus creating a balanced, mixed, sustainable community.
