Pre-school children in Surrey are looking forward to an extra sparkly Christmas this year – thanks to the donation of an impressive eight-foot tree by TCL.
The landscaping specialist donates a tree every year to an organisation of its choice – and this time has selected Toad Hall Nursery in Woking.
The choice was perhaps slightly biased – as the baby son of TCL’s school’s community liaison officer Katie Matthews is among the youngsters who will benefit from feeling extra Christmassy every day!
Katie wanted to say thank you to the staff who work there, who have made her feel confident about her return to work after having little Charlie.
Katie explained: “Since my return from maternity leave Toad Hall has been fundamental in making me feel happier at work, knowing that my son is in the best possible care.
“The nursery was buzzing with excitement when I went along to put up and decorate the tree with my colleagues Bob and Steve Kendall and Neil Sanderson. The parents, children and staff are all over the moon at the end result, even if it was a little bit too big and needed some tweaking!
“At eight foot, this was the biggest tree we’ve donated in our three years of sharing the Christmas love with local organisations.”
Toad Hall nursery manager Charlotte Belk added: “We would like to say thank you so much for the donation of such a fantastic Christmas tree. The children and their families absolutely love stopping to look at it and the decorations on the way into the nursery. It has been a real talking point for them and is supporting their language and communication skills.”
