TCL has just completed the second phase of a two-stage commercial landscaping project at a Hertfordshire retail park – winning plaudits for its professional service from the client.
The work saw TCL landscape the grounds around McDonald’s, Costa, Aldi and a roundabout for Maylands Avenue retail park in Hemel Hempstead for owners Simons Group.
The time frame for completion was the main challenge for the TCL team, who had just a month to complete the bulk of the work.
Simons Group senior quantity surveyors James Burnett and James Stimpson were delighted with all aspects of the project – from the initial meeting through to the end result.
“The landscaping went very smoothly from tender to completion,” said James Burnett. “TCL offered a compliant tender on budget and could meet our programme requirements. The pre-tender interview was very professional and resulted in exchanging ideas and defining the scope and programme to the benefit of the project.
“From there, entering into contract passed without issue and TCL were easy to deal with on site and delivered on their promises. A very successful project and I wouldn’t hesitate to use TCL again.”
James Stimpson added: “Thank you for delivering a successful scheme to a grateful client and we hope to work together on a successful scheme in the near future.”
TCL regional relationship manager Julie Evans added: “Commercial landscaping in industrial areas and business parks is so important. It brings life to what is essentially a blank canvas.
“We vastly improved the entrance to the estate by enhancing existing areas and adding new plants and hedging to give an overall mature look, as if it had always been there. This provided a lead-in which was pleasing to the eye, rather than a poor first impression.”
