TCL yard manager and fitter Mick Coulson has celebrated a major milestone in his career – and has just notched up three decades with the landscaping specialist.
Mick joined TCL in Wickford, Essex in 1988 at the age of 32 as a road sweeper operator, at a time when the company operated numerous road sweepers, gulley suckers, skip lorries and other plant equipment. He then went on to work as a mechanic and fitter in the “in house” workshop.
Mick has seen many changes over the years as the organisation evolved from a small landscaping and treeworks company with roadsweepers and skip lorries to the large commercial landscaping operation it is today.
Director of TCL in the South East, Jeff Thackeray, said: “Mick is an integral part of the operation here - loading, batching and unloading lorries ready for delivery to site. He manages a very small yard with so many teams.
“He also services all the machinery used by the team, carries out health and safety checks including being the fire warden. He does sometimes manage to get out to site as he is our lead irrigation specialist and a great trouble shooter.”
Mick was presented with his thirty years’ service award by Jeff Thackeray, and senior operations managers Andy Hull and Laurence Vincent.
