Ice Watch expands its on-the-ground team to handle growing client base
Ice Watch’s expanding customer base is showing no signs of abating – with winter 2020/21 looking even busier than the season just finished.
New clients are already signing up for Ice Watch’s next season service which begins in October, and existing customers, which include NHS Trusts, 999 services, retail parks and office complexes at more than 1,200 sites across mainland Britain, are renewing their contracts.
The company is expanding its 115-strong team of sub-contractors to handle the increase in demand – at a time when many organisations are drawing in their horns.
New recruits, as well as existing partners, will take part in annual operator training roadshows in the autumn which offer instruction on Ice Watch’s smart phone technology and are aimed at ensuring the entire team reaches the high service level standards expected by clients.
Ice Watch senior operations manager Michael Jay is looking for partners whose seasonal work normally favours the summer – gardeners, farmers and landscapers, for example, as well as those with appropriate commercial vehicles which would otherwise by lying fallow over the cold season and companies with storage capacity for some of the thousands of tonnes of salt used during the winter.
Ice Watch, which recently invested in a fleet of new gritting equipment, is the only company of its kind to have its own in-house fully qualified meteorologist. He works closely with the BBC’s global weather forecaster, Meteo Group to calculate exactly where snow and ice are likely to land.
