Just like when we were children
Experience has taught us how to deliver a fine balance in the way that play areas are both designed and constructed; play areas need to reflect the needs of the children, their carers and be in keeping with their environment
At tcl we pride ourselves on the way in which our landscape designers and architects intuitively design sensational play areas; harmonising the urban or rural location with the range of play equipment chosen and blending with the surrounding landscape.
Initially the tcl Playscapes team will look to create a design which will be stimulating and fulfil the child’s instinctive play behaviours including digging, splashing, climbing, running and jumping. It will be ‘natural’ and offer an exciting balance between safety and enjoyment. Working closely with the client, and aligned to a pre-established budget, the tcl Playscapes team will build design scenarios that will fuse natural products with equipment options from a number of manufacturers portfolios. Using trees and hedges we will create natural boundaries, shelter belts and sustainable areas for wildlife. Logs, boulders and tunnels offer places to jump from, sit on and hide in with sand and bark providing the ideal flooring solution to artificial safety surfaces in a natural environment.
The end result will be a multi-tiered, interactive environment that fulfils every aspect of our client’s brief, complies with the budgetary brief and, most importantly, fits within the environment in which it is being built.
Play space needs to be of high quality and good design to attract children and families and become a valued part of the local environment. Poor quality, unimaginative space will not be attractive to children, will not be valued by the local community and will fall in to disuse and disrepair. Good design is good investment.
